I just submitted my information and portfolio for Artists Wanted. The grand prize is a $10,000 cash grant, a feature spot at SCOPE New York 2011 (including airfare and accomodations), publicity campaign in New York, and online video feature with international exposure. Normally I don’t like entering things that have application fees, but for this one, I figured, why not? All the prizes are really great and the worst case scenario is that my work is seen by some really cool judges. You can view my submitted portfolio and rate me at: http://www.artistswanted.org/fox.
This Friday I plan on submitting my paperwork to change my name. It might be a little weird adjusting, but I’m excited about it!
And then this is just a detail snapshot of my latest painting with and Instagram filter applied. I don’t know why, but I am still not finished with triangles. I was thinking about this, because about five/six years ago, I was all about circles or ovals. Now, I just can’t get enough of triangles! The Robohontas project has been fun because it is SO different from my other work. I suppose some would say that I should only show or concentrate on one type of work at a time, but I really like having such diverse things to work on. Makes it less monotonous. And no, I still don’t classify my work as hipster triangle art!
